Two top smooth jazz artists, Rick Braun and Richard Elliot, will perform together as R n R and headline the final concert of this season’s Jacksonville Beach Summer Jazz Series on Sunday at the SeaWalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach. The concert is free and open to the public. The duo, Braun on trumpet and Elliot on saxophone, have toured together and performed on each other’s albums for years … It’s summer, a time when not only is the livin’ purported to be “easy,” but also a time when smooth jazz musicians take to the road and free concert series in local parks and elsewhere are in full swing. Here’s what’s going on this weekend with jazz and creative music in St. Louis: Tonight, the Mard… The Washoe County School District’s music and fine arts programs will be getting a much-needed boost from saxophonist and vocalist Warren Hill, who will donate the proceeds from a special show to the program. *The Long Beach Jazz Festival was in full swing last weekend with perfect outdoor concert weather and an impressive lineup that included a host of smooth jazz artists and legendary pianist Les McCann, who was in rare form.
