On Saturday, September 12th, ‘O9, visionary jazz musician Henry Grimes (acoustic bass, violin, voice), along with his esteemed band mates Andrew Lamb (reeds, flute, percussion) and Michael Wimberly (drums, percussion), will present a benefit concert for Harlem Textile Works at the Black Box Theatre, 3O8 West 133rd St. just east of St Kitchell is a singer-songwriter seasoned beyond her years, having previously joined Herbie Hancock on a worldwide tour. For her appearance in Charleston, W.Va., she brought along the Boston-based indie-rockers in The Slip, who appeared on Mountain Stage in 2006. Together, they promote Kitchell’s latest album, This Storm . This coming weekend, more than 100 jazz acts will descend upon the Detroit International Jazz Festival.
