Jazz guitar great Larry Coryell plays in Tampa with pianist Kenny Drew Jr. (St. Petersburg Times)Back in the 1960s and ’70s, Larry Coryell, left, was one of the guitar gods. His jazz-rock fusion was right up there with Miles Davis, Weather Report, Herbie Hancock and the Mahavishnu Orchestra. The Eleventh House was Coryell’s pioneering band, and he sat in with all the jazz greats, from flutist Herbie Mann to guitarist John McLaughlin. Read the rest here:
