The fourth annual Holiday Jazz Concert and Wreath Auction will be Friday, Dec. 11, at St. John’s Church. The fourth annual free July concert series Jazz in the Garden started Wednesday at Saginaw’s Andersen Enrichment Center Rose Garden, 120 Ezra Rust, with the music of Brush Street featuring singer Julie A. Mulady, of Saginaw Township. MIDDLESEX – The fourth annual summer concert series at the Martha Pellerin-Andy Shapiro Memorial Bandstand in Middlesex kicks off on Thursday, July 9, with one of the area’s most youthful funk-jazz ensembles, Evan Crandall and Too Hot to Handle. Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the music. The rest of the six-concert series: … Hurricane Sam and the Hotshots will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 3 as part of the city of Sausalito’s concert series, Jazz & Blues by the Bay. This column preceding Independence Day kicks off with two more MVD CDs in their great series of essential jazz albums, then touches base with a local band’s debut album before wrapping up with a DVD chronicling the 6,000th concert from All-American guitar hero Ted Nugent. Jerry Ewais, owner of the Zodiac Grill is one of the Downtown business owners who is gearing up for the Jacksonville Jazz Festival. Two metro-east music legends will receive another rousing tribute Saturday during the fourth annual Miles Davis Jazz Festival in Alton.
