MONTY ALEXANDER (Friday and Saturday) The pianist Monty Alexander, one of Jamaica’s proudest musical exports, explores Caribbean groove with a modern jazz twist in a group that includes the guitarist Yotam Silberstein, the bassists Courtney Panton and Santi Debriano and the drummers Obed Calvaire and Karl Wright. Internationally acclaimed guitarist Pat Martino and his band will be appearing in concert for the 4th Annual Jazz Bridge Benefit on Sunday April 25th from 5-9 p.m. at the Collingswood Community Center, 30 W. Collings Ave, Collingswood NJ. In the dimly lit room, the sounds of smooth jazz filled the air as singer Andrea Owens waited for just the right note. |
