The Joyce Matthies Dance Ensemble will present its annual concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available at Plymouth Shoes and the Joyce Matthies Dance Centre. Eastern New Mexico University in Portales will host its annual Holiday Concert at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec Merced College will host its annual fall jazz concert Friday, Dec. NJBG is again sponsoring its annual summer concert series at the New Jersey State Botanical Garden in Ringwood, and on Friday, Aug. Dr. Mark and The Sutures, Highland Park’s answer to John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Plastic Ono Band, will present its annual mid-summer community and family concert to honor the performance arts program of Highland Park High School. Marine Band San Diego will perform its annual summer public concert at 7 p.m. Saturday outside Pendleton Hall, the headquarters building at Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Hiroshima’s Dan Kuramoto can trace Atlanta’s love at least as far back as the mid-1980s, when the band was scheduled to play at a gig in Piedmont Park — though not, apparently, the Atlanta Jazz Festival. The Boston Symphony Orchestra will present its annual Labor Day Weekend Tanglewood Jazz Festival September 4-6, 2009, at the Orchestra’s summer home in the Berkshire Hills in Lenox, Massachusetts.
