MATTOON — Jazz Pizza Night will be held at 6 p.m. Friday in the Mattoon High School main gym. The Lehighton Area Music Department will be presenting a District-Wide concert tonight at 7:30 p.m. in honor of “Music In Our Schools Month.” The concert will feature performing ensembles from the Middle School and High School. The JCC Music Department’s spring Conductor’s Concert played to a Tuesday night audience in the Performing Arts Center, with the jazz band kicking off the evening playing “Traces” and “Undecided.” On Saturday 20th March, Music Director Sigmund Mifsud is organising a concert of swing standards arranged to a modern jazz flare and performed by a 16-piece big band with vocalists Daniel Cauchi, Francesca Galea and Moira Delia in a nostalgic throwback to the era of swing.
